Winter OutdoorCarpet League

2023 - 2024

Here is the final table.  For the second year running we finished top after a close fought march against Fleming Park,t he runners up,,  It was their first season in the league so congratulations to them.  We are grateful to Mike Hailey who ran the teams for us hindered by some bad weather.  We also thank Chris Fripp who instigated and runs the league.

2022 -2023

Another season over, the weather has not been that good this year, but now all the games are finished.  Totton and Eling have won this year for the firsttime.  I sincerely hope the bowlers who played in one or more matches, enjoyed the experience. I would like to think it can be run again next winter. All the best to our winter members  for your summer season, we hope to see some of you at Totton.

2021/2022

The Outdoor Carpet Winter League is now finished for this season.  Braeside were the winners with Parkside pushing them. We were third with Sixpenny Handley bring up the rear.

There were only two complaints, one club said that they played against 8 male bowlers when they thought there was supposed to be one lady in each triple and from this last game, bowlers found it very cold. I will send all results to each club when I have them returned to me.

I attended the match with Braeside playing Parkside. Braeside were already the winners and as Parkside held the trophy from last time, they had it engraved and wished to present it to Braeside after the match. I thought this was a good idea and attended to make the presentation.

I believe all the clubs are looking forward to next winter.

Total shots for the season Braeside 294, Parkside 237, Totton and Eling 234, Sixpenny Handley 228

Total points Braeside 32, Parkside 22.5, Totton and Eling 12.5, Parkside 4.5
