We had one social event in January and that was a Curling Evening run by Bill and Brenda Waight, and our thanks go out to Bill and Brenda who organised the games. This was so well supported that the notice was taken down from the board beforehand because we thought it would be hard catering for 40 plus people, a total contrast to the previous event. Perhaps balloting everyone has had the desired effect, for now at least, that social events need more support.
We have organised a trip to Hanger Farm to see the film “A Star is Born” on the 11th February and on the 1st March we have a notice out to the members for a Bingo/Beetle Drive, we are holding this in the afternoon hoping to attract people who don’t like coming out on cold winter evenings.
A fair number of responses have been received from the members asking for their thoughts on special events and I hope that the Social Committee will get together soon to discuss the points put across. Jan Le Page
